Play Just Dance Anytime, Anywhere!

Just Dance 2015At the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Ubisoft® announced the development of both Just Dance® 2015 and Just Dance® Now. Just Dance 2015 is the latest installment of the world’s #1 dance game franchise and will be available on all motion-control gaming platforms on October 23 in EMEA (October 24th in the UK) and in October in the US. Just Dance Now is the all-new mobile experience that allows players to play Just Dance tracks with their smartphones and any Internet-connected screen.

“We’re taking the franchise to the next level this year by developing the most community-focused console game yet with Just Dance 2015, and by bringing the Just Dance experience to smartphones with Just Dance Now,” said Jason Altman, Executive Producer. “Expanding into mobile allows us to reach any Just Dance fan in any setting, with the potential to reach millions of additional players.”

With 50 million games sold in the franchise since its debut in 2009, Just Dance has become a pop-cultural phenomenon played by fans all over the world. Last year, Just Dance 2014 was the ninth largest-selling video game on all platforms worldwide as well as the #4 selling video game during the holidays worldwide.

Just Dance 2015

Just Dance 2015 is developed by Ubisoft Paris, Ubisoft Reflections, Ubisoft Bucharest and Ubisoft Pune, and has the most interactive features and hottest track list yet. Here’s what’s new this year:

There are more than 100 million Just Dance players around the world and in Just Dance 2015, the community is as important as ever with the introduction of the all-new Community Remix feature. The feature allows players to record themselves dancing to songs from artists like Ellie Goulding, Pharrell Williams and Calvin Harris and share in the game. The community then votes on their favorites, which the development team will use to create remixed gameplay and ultimately bring fan footage into the game for millions of fans to dance against. Ubisoft is bringing the players into the actual game this year.

Fan-favorite features including the massive multiplayer mode World Dance Floor, video snippet creator Autodance and the sing along Karaoke feature are all back and revamped for the new game.

With more than 40 tracks, there’s quite literally something for everyone. Get “Happy” with Pharrell Williams, “Walk This Way” with Run DMC & Aerosmith or try “Holding Out for a Hero” with Bonnie Tyler’s 1980s power anthem. Whether it’s pop, hip-hop or rock you’re looking for, check out a selection of Just Dance 2015 tracks:

  • “Happy” by Pharrell Williams

Just Dance Now

Just Dance Now creates the most accessible version of Just Dance yet by enabling players to dance anywhere, anytime with anyone. The game is streamed to any Internet-connected screen, while the free app transforms players’ smartphone into a motion controller. Using a Ubisoft’s proprietary technology called Ubi Bluestar, an unlimited number of people can play together in real time, even while on different data connections – 2G, 3G, 4G, or WiFi.

Players will follow three simple steps:

1. Download the Just Dance Now app on their iPhone®, iPod touch® or Android™ device.

2. Visit JustDanceNow.com on any Internet-connected screen.

3. Their phone will automatically sync and they’ll be ready to dance!

Developed at Ubisoft Massive studio, in association with Ubisoft Paris, Just Dance Now allows fans to play Just Dance anywhere, anytime and without a video game console. The track list includes all the greatest hits from the Just Dance catalogue. The mobile experience also allows players to check their stats directly from the app, challenge their Facebook friends, and record video of their dance session to share.

Assassin’s Creed® Unity Available in stores on October 28

Assassins Creed UnityAt the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Ubisoft announced that the next installment of the 76 million unit-selling Assassin’s Creed franchise, Assassin’s Creed Unity, will be released worldwide on October 28. Assassin’s Creed Unity will be released on Xbox One video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®4 from Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. and PC.

Assassin’s Creed Unity is being developed by the veteran Assassin’s Creed team in Ubisoft Montreal with support from nine Ubisoft studios around the world*. Set in a once-magnificent Paris, Assassin’s Creed Unity plunges into the terror of the 1789 French Revolution and features the most dense and immersive Assassin’s Creed city ever created. Through the streets of Paris, the starving inhabitants are set to take up arms for freedom and equality. In this time of chaos and brutality, a young man named Arno, wounded by the loss of those he loved, sets on a deadly path of redemption. Arno’s pursuit throws him into the middle of a ruthless struggle for the fate of a nation, and transforms him into a true Master Assassin.

Assassin’s Creed Unity reinvents the franchise, starting with the core gameplay pillars that have defined the series from the beginning: navigation, stealth and combat. Players will carve their way through a stunning, full-scale open-world Paris, thanks to the power of the new Anvil engine, rebuilt from the ground up for new generation consoles. Assassin’s Creed Unity gives players full control parkour mechanics, a reinvented fighting system for a richer combat experience, a new stealth mode, cover system and crowd manipulation techniques. Players can channel their inner Assassin, customizing weapons, equipment, outfits and specialized skills to match their play style.

In addition to the sprawling single-player campaign, players can join with up to three friends and take part in story-driven online co-op missions designed specifically for Assassins to play together. Skills and unique gear acquired in the single-player missions will be accessible in co-op and will define a player’s personalized Assassin’s style, whether emphasizing brute force, agility or stealth. Players also will select a unique co-op skill that will help the team survive, evade or fight more effectively to the benefit of the team.

In North America, gamers can purchase the Assassin’s Creed Unity Collector’s Edition. The premium collector’s edition includes the new Assassin Arno as a lifelike 16” figurine poised atop an iconic gargoyle, a music box which plays a remixed version of the Assassin’s Creed Unity theme, the official soundtrack, an art book and two in-game missions.

Players who pre-order Assassin’s Creed Unity will receive 2 bonus offers. The first is an exclusive single player mission, The Chemical Revolution, offering 30 minutes of additional gameplay. During this mission the player will help Lavoisier the “Father of Modern Chemistry” to escape from his kidnappers and recover his poison bomb formula.

The second is access to the Guillotine Spin to Win Game. Every Friday through launch, consumers have a chance to win a new, incredible prize and receive five more spins and more chances to win. For a chance to win, consumers can go to AssassinsCreed.com/play and spin the Guillotine wheel and to try to hit the jackpot.

Potential prizes include:

  • Exotic trips – Paris, Ubisoft Montreal, Comic-Con
  • Games and digital content
  • Exclusive apparel and gear
  • Home Entertainment Systems
  • And more

Ubisoft also announced the Assassin’s Creed Unity Phantom Blade, a life-size replica of Arno’s new signature weapon. This limited-run collectible designed by the award-winning McFarlane Toys features a functional hidden blade, retractable crossbow arms, and a soft firing dart. Players can display this as part of their collection or wear it to complete the ultimate Assassin look. The Phantom Blade will be available while supplies last in select countries on October 28. It is priced at $59.99 USD in the United States.

Rainbow Six Siege Logo

Latest Installment of Acclaimed First-Person Shooter Franchise Being Developed Exclusively for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC

Ubisoft announced the development of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, the latest in the best-selling Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six franchise. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege will be available in 2015 on PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC.

Development of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is being led by Ubisoft Montreal. Inspired by real world counter-terrorist organizations, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege puts players in the middle of lethal close-quarters confrontations. For the first time in a Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six game, players will engage in sieges, a new style of assault where enemies have the means to transform their environments into modern strongholds while Rainbow Six teams lead the assault to breach the enemy’s position. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege gives players unprecedented control over their ability to fortify their position — by reinforcing walls and floors, using barbed wire, deployable shields and mines, and more — or breach the enemies’ using observation drones, sheet charges, rappelling, and more. The fast pace, lethality and uniqueness of each siege sets a new bar for intense firefights, strategic gameplay and competitive gaming.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege also features a technological breakthrough that redefines the way players interact with a game environment. Leveraging Ubisoft Montreal’s proprietary Realblast engine, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege incorporates procedural destruction that is realistic and unscripted, meaning the environment reacts authentically, distinctively and dynamically, based on variables like the caliber of bullets or the amount of explosives used. This advance allows players to leverage destruction in meaningful ways. Walls can be shattered, opening new lines of fire. Ceilings and floors can be breached to create new access points. This ability to modify the level design in real time enables players to create new gameplay opportunities directly within the game level.

“As fans of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six and tactical shooters in general, we set out to create the game we always wanted to play within the counter-terrorism universe. We asked ourselves ‘how could we capture the incredible tension and unique tactics of these confrontations?’ We found the answer in the Siege gameplay and procedural destruction.” said Xavier Marquis, creative director at Ubisoft. “Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is the game that Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six fans have been waiting for, and first-person shooter players will be drawn to its unique gameplay.“

Tell Deeper, Richer, Weirder Stories in the Best Life Simulation Game Ever

The_Sims_4[1]

It’s time to save up those vacation days, life gets better in 85 days. Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) today announced that The Sims™ 4 is arriving on PC starting September 2 in North America. The Sims 4 is the only game where the new generation of smarter Sims with big personalities gives players the power to play with life and create meaningful, and sometimes weirder, stories.

“On September 2 our fans will be able to experience why we believe The Sims 4 is the best life simulation game ever,” said Rachel Franklin, VP and Executive Producer for The Sims 4. “These are brand new Sims whose traits, emotions and aspirations combine to define more meaningful personalities than you’ve ever played with before. You decide not only what they look like, but more importantly, who they are. The combination of these new Sims, our powerful new creative tools, and the all-new Gallery add up to the best game we’ve ever made.”

The Sims 4 takes this best-selling franchise to an entirely new generation. Our new Sims have been reinvented into smarter, emotionally rich characters who come to life through a combination of their free will and player direction. Players control the mind, body, and now the heart of these new Sims and bring their stories to life with richness and texture that has never before been possible in the franchise. Pair these revolutionary new Sims with brand new creative tools that are powerful, tactile, and easy to use, and the all-new Gallery, which allows players to access other players’ The Sims 4 user generated content directly from the game, and the result is a stimulating new gameplay experience that powers a new era for The Sims.

Pre-orders are available at www.TheSims.com/TheSims4. Those who pre-order now will receive the Limited Edition which comes with the Life of the Party Digital Content. The Sims 4 is not yet rated by the ESRB.

Sony Playstation TV

The Sony PS4 has gotten smaller with the announcement of Playstation TV. Designed to appeal to the budget conscious, the $99 video device can play older PlayStation and PS Vita games on a TV set with a standard Sony game controller. A bundle version of the device includes a controller, HDMI cable, memory card and voucher for the Lego Movie game.

The device’s launch in the U.S. also thrusts Sony into the already crowded race with Apple, Roku, Google, Amazon and others selling inexpensive Net-enabled devices that can bring new kinds of content to a dumb traditional TV screen. The difference for Sony may be the access the new device will provide to a deep library of hundreds of older video games, which also will become available over the coming months on all of Sony’s existing game devices as well.
